Well our first year is in the books and what a long way we have come! It has been a little over a month since the Championship meet and it still seems like it was just yesterday! Over this past year we have been able to introduce competitive swimming to many of our team who had never experienced it before! I mean who would have thought last year when we first started that Drew would be one of the top swimmers in his age group in the League? Or that Millie would not only swim the 50 Butterfly in a meet but would insist on it?
It has really been a pleasure watching the team grow from the two families it started with to what it is slowly becoming. I really do think this is just the start of what we can be, so far we have the first piece of the puzzle and now it will be time to start adding more pieces with just a little luck and some hard work!
I would like to take a moment to thank everyone who made this year a success from the kids who swam who are the reason for our program to the parents who served as taxi’s and fund raisers to the board members and coaches. It was everyone working together that made this program work throughout the year.
Now it is time for us to focus on our new year already! A swim team is like a living organism, for it to live, thrive and grow it needs to be nourished with new blood, new swimmers and all of us will have a part to play in that! I look forward to the new year starting and the growth I am sure our team will experience. One last time I would like to thank all of you and I look forward to working with all of you to make this upcoming year a huge Success.
